Advent can be filled with worry about finding the perfect Christmas gifts. Deep down we want people in our lives to know they are special and that we love them. But sometimes we overlook the greatest gift of all... our very presence. Our spiritual ancestors were also worried– often about survival in the midst of political occupation. And the response of the scriptures is “the Holy Living One is with you.” Like a shepherd who never leaves the flock, we are held close. This season, we are invited to be the gift of presence for our loved ones, for our communities, for those who need it most.

After respectful conversation and thoughtful dialogue, and in response to the latest medical, governmental, and UMC Conference suggestions, the Administrative Board of the Fly Creek UMC revises its COVID policy as follows:


• Masks are not required.

• Those who are vaccinated may choose not to wear their masks, except while singing during worship. We continue to ask all people to wear masks while singing.

• If you are ill, exhibit symptoms of COVID-19, or have tested positive, we ask that you remain at home and do not attend worship or other events until you are well or have a negative test.

• Coffee hour has resumed!

It remains our highest concern that this congregation demonstrate love and compassion toward all persons, and to make this church a safe space for all persons who come seeking a relationship with God and fellowship with others.
